It is expected that delegates shall;
- Know what causes infections
- Be able to identify means of transmission
- Be able to Identify the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers
- Be able to perform effective hand washing techniques
- Be able to select appropriate personal protective equipment
- Be able to apply safe work practices e.g. spills, cleaning, laundry, client care equipment, waste disposal reporting
- Be able to select safe techniques for handling sharps
- Be able to correctly handle used linen
- Understand infection control policies and how to report breaches in safety
